Kerinci district government has proposed 37 types of traditional dances to the Parties Kerinci Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights to obtain patents.
"There are 37 traditional dances that have been Kerinci we submitted to the Director General of Haki to obtain patents. We may already be processed in the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights," said Secretary of Culture, Tourism, Youth, and Sports Amri Swarta in Kerinci, Monday.
Disbudparpora states, gradually it will be patented dozens of dance area that is important and valuable asset owned by the Kerinci district as a form of preservation and protection against the threat of a claim by another party.
"Plans patented dozens of local dance was presented by Regent H Murasman and positively welcomed Justice Minister during a visit to Edinburgh, some time ago," he said.
Dozens of dance and arts area to be patented it, among other things, dance Sike, Rangguk, Ngayun Luci, Niti Mahligai, Rain Shower, Tauh, Asek, Iyo-iyo, tapping Kudo, Ngagouh Himau, Basambai (Reog Kerinci), Marcok (Debus Kerinci), and dance Sirih Sekapur.
He mentioned, Kerinci District, located in the westernmost region of Jambi province, besides known by its beautiful natural state, is also rich with diverse cultures and arts.
Beautiful natural scenery as it is situated at the foot of Mount Kerinci which is the highest active volcano in Sumatra, is also surrounded by the Bukit Barisan National Park and Kerinci Seblat.
Potential owned natural attractions, like Lake Kerinci, waterfalls Telun Berasap, the spread of tea gardens, central hot water, as well as the valleys and canyons, very nicely blends with various art forms and cultural traditions of the community.
Kerinci Regency is also a mainstay for the tourist area of Jambi Province because of various peoples and cultures are rich and need to be preserved.
Through lake party or Concerned Citizens of Lake Kerinci Festival (FMPDK), held every year, dozens of dance and various traditional events held to increase tourist visits, both within and outside the country.
"We expect to have been filed to Haki we will not need to be wary of our culture more typical of traditional dances that will be annexed another country. Now we stump the results we expect over the next two years are all already getting a patent," he said.
